Confused

When I got off the train, I really did not know where I can go. Train is not same as skytrain or subway, I could not took the train which move opposite direction.

What is going on? I was lost! In the summer of 2010, I participated in a summer camp about study tour in the Britain. The above is please during my study tour. I was lost because I did not pay attention, so I did not know my companions leaved already until the ticket inspector request me about the ticket.

That day, we traveled London together; we take train to London from Oxford (a city where we lived). During we stay the London, we walked all day, and we visited the Big Ben and London Eye. In the afternoon, we started leave London to Oxford. However, we started leave too later to catch the last direct train. We had to take the converted train. Our teacher told us we should took off at next station, I was seated alone. When the train got to the destination, I did not felt the train stop because I almost slept. I did not know how long the train ran and how many stations the train passed. When a ticket inspector came, I started realized: “Where my companions?" The ticket inspector requested the tickets to me; I could not understand what she said. At the same time, I felt nervous and restless.

When I took off the train, I did not knew where I could go, who I can asked for help, even where I was. There was not many people at the station, I found a person who could spoke Chinese. Unluckily, the train which he waited was coming when I wanted to ask him, so I had to ask other people who at the station. I reluctant asked a British, he told me how to buy tickets but I could not understand. He looked his watch, and said "Follow me, hurry!" I followed him and found the ticket office; he helped me to say something (I could not remember) to the conductor. He got a paper which had the plan to take train to Oxford, and then he leaved in one second. I also could not understand the contents of paper. I had to asked help for another person, he is British too, and he told the contents of the paper to me over and over until I could understand. Everyone's time was precious; he left with the departure of the train. I had to wait one hour for the train along.

"Only one minute." I looked the clock and said. I wanted to make sure I would get back successfully. I decided to ask a worker who work in this station. I did not know: I would miss this train if I asked a worker. The worker asked me about my name and other things about me. She thought I was a child who was lost. Then she brought me to office, at the same time, the train which could took me to Oxford was coming and I had to looked it left but I could not got on it. The worker asked me some questions, but I could not understand. Then, another worker was coming, after their conversation; they told me when the train which goes to exchange station was coming. In other words, I had to wait 1 more hours to left. During this time, one of the workers asked me "Do you need water?" I was impressed.

"The train was coming!" I said to myself. The worker told a worker who work in the train to take care of me and brought me to exchange station. When I got to the exchange station, I was a worker who work in this station took care of. I was so tired because of I did not had dinner and I needed to wait more than 3 hours. After about 20 minutes, the train was coming, I could back! For avoided missed station again, I asked the worker "How many stations..." I did not know how to say a corrected and a complete sentence at that time and I said "how many stations" again and again. He could understand my mean, so he told me three stations I needed to pass. Luckily, I found a person who come from the country same as me and she needed to went to Oxford too. Finally, I successfully returned to Oxford.

After this experience, I knew I should be responsible for myself, because nobody could help you forever. Wasn't it?
